Topological phases of the Kitaev-Hubbard model at half filling
The Kitaev-Hubbard model of interacting fermions is defined on the honeycomb lattice and, at strong coupling, interpolates between the Heisenberg model and the Kitaev model. It is basically a Hubbard model with ordinary hopping t and spin-dependent hopping t ′. We study this model in the weak to intermediate coupling regime, at half filling, using the cellular dynamical impurity approximation (...
متن کاملSpinless fermions ladders at half filling
We study a half filled ladder of spinless fermions. We show that contrarily to a single chain, the ladder becomes a Mott insulator for arbitrarily small repulsive interactions. We obtain the full phase diagram and physical quantities such as the charge gap. We show that there is only a single insulating phase for repulsive interactions, regardless of the strength of the interchain hopping and s...
متن کاملAntiferromagnetism of the 2D Hubbard Model at Half Filling: Analytic Ground State at Weak Coupling
r n̂r↑n̂r↓. In Shf we study the many-body eigenstates of the kinetic energy with vanishing eigenvalue of the Hubbard repulsion (W = 0 states). In the Sz = 0 sector, this is a N times degenerate multiplet. From the singlet component one obtains the ground state of the Hubbard model for U = 0, which is unique in agreement with a theorem by Lieb. The wave function demonstrates an antiferromagnetic o...
متن کاملOn the Scaling Limit of the 1D Hubbard Model at Half Filling
The dispersion relations and S-matrix of the one-dimensional Hubbard model at half filling are considered in a certain scaling limit. (In the process we derive a useful smallcoupling expansion of the exact lattice dispersion relations.) The resulting scattering theory is consistently identified as that of the SU(2) chiral-invariant Thirring (or GrossNeveu) field theory, containing both massive ...
متن کاملThe U = ∞ Hubbard model with few holes : Monte Carlo studies near half filling at nonzero temperatures
We present an efficient Monte Carlo method to study the properties of the infinitely repulsive Hubbard model with few holes at finite nonzero temperatures. Using this method, magnetic and specific heat results are presented for a 10× 10 lattice with two holes. Our results show that the magnetization increases with decreasing temperature for such a finite system.
